Here’s where I posted to the graphene theme support:
https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/ie8-crash-with-graphene-theme-and-sociable-plugin
I had to go and re-post over there, seem to be some strange things happening (or not) over here on the support forums.
Oh, I thought you were talking about the official Graphene support forum: https://forum.graphene-theme.com
For what it’s worth, Graphene is fully compatible with IE8, but IE8 is, well, buggy. As the rest of the world moves on, it gets harder and harder to support non-compliant browsers, like IE.
I know of more than a few sites using Graphene and Sociable, so it may not be so much a conflict between Graphene and Sociable, as it is between Graphene, Sociable, and some other plugin you are running. (Yup, it gets complicated.) The only real way to figure this out is to (temporarily) disable your plugins to figure it out.
If you need it, a brief guide to that technique is here:
https://blog.kjodle.net/2012/06/15/disable-your-wordpress-plugins/
If that doesn’t solve things for you, here’s an example of what I was able to accomplish with Addthis.com code and Graphene’s built-in action hook widget areas:
https://blog.kjodle.net/2011/11/04/graphene-action-hook-widgets-an-easy-way-to-modify-your-blog/
It may not be exactly what you are looking for, but it’s something to tuck into your bag of tricks.
I’m posting in the same place … The Joke’s on Me ??
Being able to laugh at your mistakes is an essential part of the learning process.
Love the Graphene theme anyway, and I’m sticking with it !.
Glad to hear it. Graphene is full of awesome.
so my only option was to use a different plugin.
Sometimes that happens. Actually, that is usually what happens.
Cheers,
Ken
