[Plugin: WordPress SEO by Yoast] 404 errors after removing category base

WordPress SEO version: 1.2.5I did this: checked the box to Strip the category base
I expected the plugin to do this: remove category base from the URL’s so I can have URL with post or pages names and without categories before them.
Instead it did this: generates 404 errors in each page every time I set the permalinks to use /%postname%/
