Creating another 'editable' area on my pages

Hi guys,

I have been given my first WordPress build to fully integrate a website into. I have previously installed WordPress and customised it just as a ‘blog’ page – then linking to it from the main site but this time WordPress is on the root of the server and every page has to be updateable. I have managed to create my various pages and have created ab editable area ( a top red banner) that contains an image and text that can be updated via WP. However, the client wants several other editable areas across the pages (all the same apart from the homepage and the actual blog page (I believe this will be just be the standard WP template layout). My question is – how do I achieve this?
