    I have a cloned sandbox here epic.gtmanagement.com

The production site is epicdartmouth.com but the plugin is disabled due to the issue.

Is the new version supposed to deny access to the site altogether if the users ip matches the spammersforum list?

    Try the beta test at:

    https://www.blogseye.com/beta-test.php

this version (3.4beta) doesn’t kick in until it receives a post. This
simplifies code and speeds up WordPress.

The 3.3 version checked IP every time a comment form appeared. So it
is possible it could deny access even on the home page.

It should have white listed your IP when you installed it, though.

Ok I’ll try the beta version. It did whitelist my IP … it was legitimate users that we had personally invited to the site that were being denied access (not great PR). I have since ask their help in sending me their IP to test against the spammer forum databases.

There should be a reason in the history logs. The next time you activate the plugin see if you can tell why the person was rejected.

Unfortunately, legitimate users are sometimes added to the various databases. Some webmasters use it to block users who have made negative comments, not caring that it blocks them from any website that uses SFS to validate users. If this has happened, you should uncheck the database lookups and rely on the passive methods for checking for spam.
