    Hi everyone,

Really hope you can help me – I’m using the Thesis 1.7 Theme and I’m suddenly unable to insert photos in to blog articles. After clicking on “insert in to post” the dialogue box remains white and nothing happens. Additionally, I can no longer work in full screen mode. I haven’t used wordpress in some time, perhaps settings have changed or I need to update. I’ve never had this problem and have always posted and inserted media in the same way.

    Thanks so much!

  • Have you tried:

    – deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem. If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

    – switching to the default theme to rule out any theme-specific problems.

resetting the plugins folder by FTP or PhpMyAdmin. Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.

    Hi Esmi,
Thanks for the quick reply! I checked and apparently I have no plug-ins. I also switched to the defauly theme, no luck, same problem. I feel like if I try it again tomorrow, it will work.

Perhaps I need to update my version? I’m using 2.9.2 or thereabouts and a wordpress is prompting me to upgrade.

Perhaps you can help me with this?

I assume my username and password to be what I use to log in to my blog?
What is the hostname and where would I find this?

    Thank you!

    Daniel

If you are referring to a prompt for login details when you try to update, then WP is asking for your FTP details. You can obtain these from your hosts if you do not have them already. However, you cannot upgrade to WP 3.4.1 in a single step. You are too far behind now and any attempt to carry out a major upgrade like that in a single step could completely trash your database. Instead, see Upgrading_WordPress_Extended.

Good news! By switching computers it worked! I felt like it might have something to do with pop ups or dialogue boxes – works just fine now on my Mac. Thanks again for your time and help!
