    Hello all,

I want to move my WordPress install from blog.hashbang0.com to hashbang0.com
If possible, I want to do it so that visitors to blog.hashbang0.com will be redirected to the equivalent page/post on hashbang0.com

Both the domain and subdomain are on the same server.
    hashbang0.com is located in ~/public_html
    blog.hahbang0.com is located in ~/public_blog

I have read Moving WordPress and Giving WordPress Its Own Directory, but not sure which way to go. If I go down the Moving WordPress path, is it going to conflict because both installs would try and use the same database on the db server (i.e. localhost)?

    Many thanks,
    Ben

  • Your other post is far more informative. This is really just a duplicate with all the interesting information removed.

The install path has nothing to do with which database WordPress uses though.

I thought the other question was barking up the wrong tree and didn’t want to push answers in the wrong direction. However, if you think the information is useful then it’s probably best to not concentrate on t’other post ??

In both cases you are trying to figure out how to move WordPress, essentially, and the other one has server information that may be critical. I would just update that one with the information in your first post here and close this one.
