move blog entries from old WP site/theme to new

  • Ugh…I messed this up.

    My client had an old site–non WordPress, but the blog was WordPress.

    I built him a new WordPress site, with a new theme, at a new web host. I downloaded the datatbase, and backed up the old site.

    But I can’t figure out how to upload the old blog entries. There’s a folder marked blog in the backup files.

    Do I upload this somewhere by FTP?

    Help!
