[Theme: Simple Catch] Disconnect Slider and Featured Thumbnail?

Great theme, thanks for the update. I used the trick from an earlier thread in order to get my entire post on the front page instead of just the first few lines, the problem is when I select the featured image, the thumbnail takes out half the column. If I deselect the featured image and choose to insert the image into the post, then I get the nice wrap around text and a full column. But when I deselect the featured image to get rid of the thumbnail, I lose that image as the slider. So it seems to me that the to use a featured image means that it is both the featured thumbnail and the slider. Is there anyway to keep the slider and lose the thumbnail?
