Hi, I think I did something wrong while uploading via FileZilla.

I was trying to do was upload the Thesis theme which you then have to correct some file permissions and numeric values (cache and layout.css) once it uploads via FileZilla. As I was doing this, I may have moved users but I’m not sure if that’s possible or if I did.

The connection broke while I was doing this (I walked away for a few minutes) before changing the numeric values. When I came back, all my other installed themes were gone and twenty ten was there and twenty ten had a missing style sheet.

When I went to activate Thesis which had no picture displayed, it said ‘cheatin’ uh?’

    Thanks for any help.

  • Are the other theme folders still present in wp-content/themes? Exactly what permissions did you change?

Hi esmi, thanks for your response.

All the other themes are gone. Now I just have thesis and twenty ten. (previously I had more than seven others.)

For Thesis, they tell you to change custom-sample to just custom and then go into that folder and right click cache then file permissions and change numeric value to 775. then also in layout.css to change file permissions numeric value to 666.

    Thanks.

That kind of permissions change shouldn’t have wiped out any other theme folders. All I can suggest is that you upload fresh copies of all of your previous themes – including Twenty Eleven, obviously – using FTP.

Hi esmi, thanks. Do I just upload another Twenty ten (or eleven) theme folder via filezilla over the other one? Do I have to get ‘rid’ of the one that’s there (not sure if that’s possible) or I just add another set of theme files and it will ‘self correct’?

    Thanks.

hi esmi, Okay so I reupladed new copies of twenty eleven and one other previous theme – those two work fine. Thanks for that advice. But I am still getting the ‘cheatin’ uh?’ message with Thesis and that’s the theme I’m trying to work with. The others work fine and I can use as my theme with no problems. Not sure what else to try or why this would happen, if I did something wrong or what …?
