[Plugin: Private Messages For WordPress] Odd punctuation in messages

Currently running this plugin on my WordPress site and I love the simple functionality, but the messages sometimes have slashes that show up around certain punctuation marks, like quotations and apostrophes. A message would looks something like this: “\\\”WELCOME!\\\” (it\\\’s right next to the banner that says \\\”Fic Pics Banner Center, Please Read Before Posting\\\”).” Is there a fix for this?
