Creating Template With Parameters

  • Hi Everyone,

    I was wondering if anyone knows how to create a template or theme so that a user of the wordpress dashboard can create pages with parameters in them.

    The reason being is I want to create a file viewer template so that a people can view different files in a page according to the parameters entered from the wordpress dashboard.

    Example a WordPress user can create a page in which only .doc files are viewed or just .pdf files are available. All I want a the WordPress user to do is click Pages->New Page -> select my template-> set option -> click save.

    Just a note the users will not be uploading posts so I cannot simply add tags and such, they will be images, documents etc…

    I am new to WordPress but have a PHP background but any and all suggestions are welcome!
