• hey,

i’m working on a blog at https://www.qwesi.com and still ironing out a few kinks. it looks great on Firefox, but there are a couple of problems in internet explorer:

first, the sidebar text doesnt start at the top of the page. instead, it starts after like a mile of just blank blue. second, a picture that fits perfectly in the blog portion on firefox ends up encroaching the blue sidebar in IE. i dont know if i explained myself well, but it can be seen if you check out the blog.

anyway, i would appreciate it so much if someone could give some advice on fixing this problem. i hate internet explorer, but i realize that most people probably use it anyway.

    thanks a lot!

    hey:

i found out that the sidebar and picture problem were completely tied together and that it was the size of the picture that was messing everything up. so i scaled it to 60% and now everything is peachy.

is there an autoscale function/plugin, though? it seems as if firefox was smart enough to just do it on its own but IE i guess isn’t.

    thanks.

Has anyone got a solution for this one? I hate to scale my pictures down as I want readers to be able to see the full resolution if they desire to download the picture.

You can use the Image Manager plugin and post a thumbnail at a size you specify that is a live link to your full-size pic.

You could make the whole blog wider. I did that on my site: https://www.gogela.com I’m really big on large images and high resolution myself. ?? I could send you the default wordpress theme that i widened too, if it would help.

Sorry about the late response, but thanks to you both for the suggestions. I’m going to try that image manager plugin and I think that will work quite nicely!
