• Hi,

I run a WordPress blog that gets about 500 hits an hour, which is fine. However whenever I get a link from a site with high traffic, like 20,000 hits and hour, it causes my server to use all of its resources. I am running a 2.8GHZ Dual Xeon with 3GB of ram, so I know the server is fine. However, I know that the issue is MYSQL and Apache (which WordPress relies on) both compete for the server’s resources and bam causes it to load slow, if it loads at all.

I am asking for suggestions how to fix this issue — if it requires me to pay for services, that’s no problem.

BTW:I am using WP-Cache, which doesn’t help at all, it still kills my server.

    Thanks, Ian

    bump

Please don’t bump, as explained in the forum rules.

And you should upgrade to the latest version of WordPress. The version you’re running has some major security issues. I don’t think that’ll fix you load issues, but you should still do it.
