[Plugin: Portable phpMyAdmin] Portable PMA generating incorrect error re: other plugin

Same question here.

Seriously – anybody? when this happened two weeks ago, i uninstalled both Shortcode Exec PHP and Portable PMA, reinstalled both, and it worked fine until today. Now i get the exact same error.

**Even when I deactivate and delete Shortcode Exec PHP, Portable PMA gives me the error “Shortcode Exec PHP requires at least WordPress 2.8″**

I am still running WP 3.4, still have not made any other changes.

This seems not a problem with Shortcode Exec PHP to me.
Try Shortcode Exec PHP without Portable PMA to check this.

I have. Shortcode Exec PHP runs fine whether I have Portable PMA activated or not.

Shortcode Exec PHP originates the problem, because its shortcode-exec-php-class.php script incorrectly throws the error to begin with.

That error is only thrown when the class is loaded without a properly initialized WordPress environment.

See it like this: this error prevents further problems, because the WordPress environment is needed for a correct function of the plugin.

The question is why Shortcode Exec PHP is loaded without a proper WordPress environment. This is not something the plugin does on its own.

if my WordPress environment was not properly configured, then Shortcode Exec PHP would throw the error every time. it doesn’t. it works fine 95% of the time. However, it occasionally throws that error.

Then occasionally the WordPresss environment is not (properly) initialized. The question is why.

So, even if Shortcode Exec PHP is not installed anymore, this error is shown. It looks like Portable PMA does something strange.

yes, i agree. which is why i posted the question on the Portable PMA support board.

M – deleted them both again, waited about 5 hours, reinstalled Portable PMA and it worked. installed but didn’t activate Shortcode Exec PHP, then commented out the Check_prerequisites (since i know my config meets them) function call in shortcode-exec-php.php to hopefully prevent it from throwing the error again. Then activated Shortcode Exec PHP and everything working fine.

Absolutely no idea why waiting several hours made the difference, but for some reason Portable PMA cleared the error value during that time. I will continue digging into the PMA code and let you know if i find out what is happening.

Please realize that commenting out ‘Check_prerequisites’ can give other, maybe more serious, trouble.

Mine seemed to be erroring about Ultimate TinyMCE… strange.
