[Plugin: Google XML Sitemaps] exclude pages

I’m creating pages with permalinks defined by me, and want to exclude those pages from my sitemap. I see where I can “Exclude the following posts or pages”, but I’ve tried putting in the page name, and the full path (https://www.etc…), and in each case, the page is still appearing in the sitemap. How can I accomplish this? Thanks so much!!!
