[Plugin: Twitter Mentions As Comments] error in version 1.5.3

When I activate het plugin, I get this warning:

Fatal error: Call to a member function update_wp() on a non-object in /var/www/vhosts/eediete.nl/httpdocs/keuken/wp-content/plugins/twitter-mentions-as-comments/includes/class.plugin-boilerplate.php on line 182

What can I do?

(For now, I have removed the plugin, to still be able to enter my site)
