• Hello all,

I am trying to install a theme on wordpress and I get the following error:

Are you sure you want to do this?

    Please try again.

    Forbidden
You don’t have permission to access /wp-admin/update.php on this server.

Then I tried to do it with FTP but just got a bucket load of errors … any easy fix for this ?

  • Look at the ‘error_log’ (probably in / dir) and post here latest errors from this file.

    – Check theme files permissions.
    – Try to install theme on a different browser.
    – Disable all plugins.

I’d guess it is a directory ownership or permission problem.

When you say ‘FTP’ are you talking about the built in FTP or are you using a client like FileZilla?

Hey guys, thanks for the reply’s … Yea I uploaded using Filezilla but just ended with more errors. I have upload a different template sense and it uploaded successfully… so must be a theme problem … really starting to get on my tits.

I am having a hard time understanding how it could be a theme issue, since your problem occurs over FTP, which is nothing more than shoving files around. Anyway, glad you got a theme uploaded.
