RSS problem – blank page on /feed/ after permalink change
-
Hi, I recently changed the permalinks on a self hosted site and since doing so, the RSS feed is not generating – it was previously feeding into a couple of other feed directories but now it’s not and it’s a problem because it was getting a lot of traffic this way.
It’s installed in
https://www.domainname.co.uk/directory/
Everything is working fine with the site itself as far as the new permalinks go on the site, but when I go to
https://www.domainname.co.uk/directory/feed/
all I get is a blank page. When I view the page in firefox, it offers me the subscribe to RSS option for the /feed/ but doesn’t then work.
I’m just using the permalink structure:
/%year%/%monthnum%/%day%/%postname%/
In feedburner, when I try to validate the feed, I now get :
Sorry
This feed does not validate.
line 1, column 0: XML parsing error: <unknown>:1:0: no element found [help]
In addition, interoperability with the widest range of feed readers could be improved by implementing the following recommendation.
Feeds should not be served with the “text/html” media type [help]
Nothing else has changed, plugins haven’t changed (and disabling them all has no effect) and the theme is the same on as was used previously. I’m really stumped and have found other posts with people complaining of similar issues, but no solutions. Any ideas gratefully received.
Thanks for reading.
