[Plugin: Profile Builder] Are any functions free to try?

I just downloaded/installed and am trying to show/hide default profile fields just to get a feel for this. Nothing changes at all after I change a setting and hit “save changes”. Is it because I need to buy the plug-in first for these things to work? Thank you.
