[Plugin: W3 Total Cache] Image minifier?
-
Is there an image minifier that works with W3 Total Cache?
Here’s what I have in mind. When Total Cache caches a page it compares the actual image size to the presented image size (width= height=). If the sizes are not the same (or within some tolerance) then the plugin creates a resized copy of the image and uses that on the page. The original image would be untouched.
Here is the question behind the question. And perhaps there’s a better way to accomplish this. I am creating a site for my wife’s business, and she needs an image-heave front page. For the moment I am considering the Hatch theme, but I may change my mind. I need to make publishing as simple as possible, so I don’t want to her to have to to resize images before she uploads or upload multiple sized images (she will need large sized images at times to show off her artwork). I don’t even want something that crawls the site and automatically creates different thumbnails because I don’t want her to have to pick one size for front page and another for use in a post. Besides, she may choose different display sizes in the same post. So anything that can automate that process for her is greatly appreciated.
Thank you for your thoughts.
