nickname restriction

  • Hi,

    when an user register to wordpress blog, he have to set a nickname which is mandatory..but by default the nickname = username
    and this is a problem for me…

    how to make a restriction to the nickname field so it do not allow users to use same login name and nickname.

  • Create another field with the real name and put the Nickname in the user field.

    this form is managed by the user-profil.php file…
    can’t figure how to modify it without the “overwrite by update” problem

    and i have no idea if a plugin could hijack the post of this form and tweak the form validation.
