• Hi Everyone,

I am getting a Internal Server error when trying to install WordPress from scratch on my web host.

So far I have uploaded WordPress to my web directory and edited the wp-config.php file.

What should I do next to troubleshoot the problem? Any logs I can look at?

    Thanks!

  • You shouldn’t need to edit your wp-config file, as the installer will do this for you if the permissions are set up correctly.

This can also be due to something in your .htaccess file in your WordPress directory & root directory. You can try renaming this file to see if it resolves your problem.

Let me know if that helps. ??

    htperkins,

If I do not include a wp-config file I do get the option to create one. The problem is when I select the option I get an internal server error.

There is no .htaccess file in my web directory or root directory. I have enabled hidden files in my ftp client.

Could this be the issue? Thanks for the help!

    Any other suggestions?

I am hosting with WiredTree which has Cpanel. PHP is running. I have created the database and user with full permissions. I have no idea what to check next. Any logs to determine the problem?
