Actually, it just stopped working again. As soon as I log out from admin the buttons goe away. Any ideas on this strange problem?

I think I found a solution. Your plugin might be incompatible with the Social Sharing Toolkit plugin https://www.active-bits.nl/support/social-sharing-toolkit/ Are you aware of this issue?
