Unable to get to Dashboard – wp_admin file in wrong location?
-
After installing WP, I’m stuck. I cannot access wp_admin. Here are the highlights…
From cPanel, I chose to install via Fantastico, and perhaps I missed something in the instructions & video (which were for WP 2.7, alas).
When I was done, I clicked on the Visit Site link. At the bottom of my browser I see this:
https://creativelynostalgic.com
Of course, the site displays a generic message telling visitors that the domain was recently purchased, and the site is being created for the domain, etc.
When I use FileMagager to look at my home dir, and see this:
(/home/lmiller)
access-logs
etc
mail
public_ftp
public_html
tmp
wwwI see the wp_admin folder in two places: in the public_html & www subdirectories
In both cases, the folders look like this:
wp_admin
css
images
includes
js
maint
network
userSo it looks like the wp-admin files are installed in the wrong place perhaps. This is what I get for trying to do too much in one evening. Kind of embarrassing, since part of my day job is supporting a web application.
Any advice onfixing this is appreciated.
Thanks
