• I’ve reported this before but still haven’t found the right settings to avoid this problem: it takes forever for my client to send a newsletter. She has 1,500 subscribers and I am using:

    Maximum number per 24-hours: 2000
    Maximum per batch: 300
    Interval between emails: 0

So it ought to require about 5 batches in total over about 25 minutes. BUT INSTEAD, the software has been working for 12 hours already and it is at 8.8% complete. I set up a cron job to touch wp-cron.php every 10 minutes, so maybe it ought to take an hour for the newsletter to go out. Not 12+ hours.

Also, NEW PROBLEM: multiple emails are sent to each subscriber. I received 2 emails to my test account but some subscribers have received up to 6 copies.

I am using GMAIL as the outgoing SMTP server. The emails are sent successfully except for the count and the duration. Help anyone???

  • I have only an spool of 40 messages and after one day I’m still waiting the program to send the newsletter. zzzzzzz

My sending problem stemmed from the fact that only a few emails went out with each batch. Frequently (and maybe usually), a new batch would fire off while the first batch was still sending. This caused slow progress and multiple sends. I’m not sure why a had this problem but I decided to migrate my clients to a different newsletter package that cost a bit of cash but seems to have more resources for support.

I tip my hat to eventualo for taking on this complex solution.
