How to add one more slidebar to wordpress theme

  • I am using wordpress 3.4.2 with a theme that has only right slidebar , i want to have left slidebar too with the theme , googling it I found the way but it was for those themes who dont have functions.php , in fact my theme has functions.php file, i dont have much info of coding but If you guide me step by step I am sure i can do it !
