  • you cannot call the index file directly like that from a theme directory.

    The main index.php file in your wordpress installation directly has additional requirements which take care of require and/or include files that are needed for wordpress to run.

    So if you specifically want to call a theme index.php file, then you will have to include those calls as well.

    Out of curiosity, why do you want to call the theme index file directly like that?

    i want to stick it into a movable theme & I did try https://m.urban-couture.com/wp-content/themes/sample/index.php still the same thing.

    it worked earlier and i messed around with my ftp & i’m not sure if i might’ve erased something by accident because all of a sudden…i couldn’t view it.

    blah! its something with that theme switcher. i took it off…now it works woot!
