Show Scheduled Custom Post on Single

I am using custom post types to do an event scheduling system. I can add a Meeting post in the future and have that displaying on the home page loop with a query filter that sets custom post_type and post_status to any. I want my single pages to do the same. So I have a page called single-meeting.php. I want to filter the query so it knows it is OK to show a custom post with a future date. That way I can have meetings for next month or next quarter.
