Installing Word Press for a separate domain name

  • Hi,

    I am new to this. I recently made a personal website: andrewwilenmarketing.com and downloaded the Word Press Installation and downloaded my theme to it.

    Now, I am trying to build a website for my girlfriend, her domain name is chefalyssa.com

    How do I upload a new theme for chefalyssa.com and add to her website without disrupting my own word press/website?

  • I don’t see how this has anything to do with your site. If you are building a new site, use a fresh wordpress installation.

    I am having trouble using a fresh wordpress installation. the instructions are not clear to me.

    I don’t know what to tell you, there are pretty clear instructions on installing wordpress. I can’t tell exactly what you are trying to do from what you said, but I guarantee you that you are making it more difficult and complex.

    andrewwilen – If you want a totally separate second site, you can either buy hosting for her and install there, or make an add-on domain on your hosting and install there.

    If you want Multisite, you can just activate it, build her site that way, and map a domain.
