• I tried out Acobot on a WP site…eventually decided to not use it.

I deactivated the plugin…and the bot still appeared on the site. Even after a reboot.

I then deleted the plugin – and the bot still appears on the site, even after a reboot.

Not sure what else to do…I was thinking maybe I’d manually adjusted some page someplace to call it, but I don’t remember, and I don’t see any notes in the installation procedures saying to do so.

Anyone have any ideas how I can make Acobot stop showing up on the site?

  • Hi Wootie,

    1. For a quick fix, you can log on to your account at acobot.com and turn the bot off from your home page. The chat box will hide.

    2. To remove the bot code from your site
    – If you install it through Acobot for WordPress plugin, what you need to do is disable and uninstall the plugin.
    – If you manually copied/pasted the code on to your web pages, you need to locate these pages and delete the code.

Keep in mind you need to clear cache to get the above effective.

Does the above information help? Feel free to let us know.
