Hi, none of my perma links work and it’s because WP 2.0 doesn’t give you a .htaccess file, yet when I updated the ‘Permalinks Structure’ it tells me to update my .htaccess file. What am I supposed to do?

** By the way: I made a .htaccess file and my blog went down.

    Thanks, Ian

  • Ian, that’s good information but you’ll need to provide more, such as:

    – is your blog in the root directory (site.com) or a subdirectory (site.com/blog)?

    – what did you put in the .htaccess file?

    DianeV,

    Thanks.

    (1) Yes, it’s the root.

    (2) There is no .htaccess created in 2.0, apparently, so I created one and copyed+pasted what was written in ‘Options -> Permalink’.

I have another WordPress blog that I upgraded from 1.5.2, which had an .htaccess file, and it works fine.

Okay, actually I copied the file from my other domain to this one and everything is solved, which doesn’t make sense to me since it’s the same file.

    Thanks though
