• I password protected a folder. It comes up 404. The issue is not with my hosts server. No 404 errors show in log.
We tested using my other (non WP) domain on my account, works fine.

I thought the 404 was caused by a caching plugin. Cleared cache, deactivated & deleted it. Deactivated all other plugins one by one and the 404 remains.

I don’t remember how I set up the 404. The password protected folder has an index page& robots.txt to prevent indexing and archiving.

I am not sure why I am getting the 404 instead of the password prompt.

    This is a StudioPress theme.
