[Plugin: WP Email Capture] Plugin is skipping confirmation

When people sign up for email updates they are not getting a confirmation email. They are directly getting the welcome email. This would not be an issue except that I cant see any emails because they are all unconfirmed.
I have no idea what the issue could be.Appreciate any help
