Comments are closed? Huh?

  • Check “Allow comments” in the Discussion pane on the Edit Post page. If you do not see this pane, click Screen Options at the very top of the page and check “Discussion”.

    Any idea why my comments would suddenly shut off? Or is WP peculiar that way?

    No – it only does what it’s told to. What do you have set for commenting in Settings -> Discussion?

    I just checked it and under default all of these are checked

    Attempt to notify any blogs linked to from the article
    Allow link notifications from other blogs (pingbacks and trackbacks)
    Allow people to post comments on new articles
    (These settings may be overridden for individual articles.)

    Somehow maybe the settings got overridden for that post?

    I don’t know. I’m the only admin and suddenly the comments didn’t appear. Everything else under Settings/Discussion looks normal.

    But now I know how to fix if it happens again. Thank you!
