For a few days I′ve scratched my head with what I do wrong with the wp-config.php… One.com (my host) keeps telling me I have the DB-settings wrong.. I have the email with the right settings and all.. But can anyone tell me what to do, when I KNOW I have the right MySQL logins.. and the mistake has to be somewhere else. First I′ve downloaded WP file (put it on desktop), opened it in Notepad, changed DB-settings, removed “sample”, then “save now”. Then used a ftp-program, I′ve used both Filezilla and Transmit. Uploaded WP file (from desktop). I′ve done it again and again, but the error site is: “Error establishing a database connection
his either means that the username and password information in your wp-config.php file is incorrect or we can’t contact the database server at localhost. This could mean your host’s database server is down.”etc..
I contact One, and they say the same thing…wrong in wp-config.php file.. Anybody who has a clue of where my mistake might be…!?

Check your db details with your hosts.

I did and they told me, the problem has to be somewhere else.

    Hi Bustina,

If possible can u pls put the content of ur wp-config.php here for us to see. Seems like u have missed something?

@bustina – never post your wp-config.php file in a public forum; it contains logins, passwords and database details that should not be public.

The problem may be that you’re using localhost as a database server URL when it’s something else; check with one.com

@MarutiMohanty – it’s both irrelevant and a security concern to ask someone to post account details such their wp-config.php file

Thanks for trying to help me. It got solved when I used Tex-Edit Plus instead of Notepad.. ??

@songdogtech i understand the risk .. I was just trying to help. It seemed like Bustina had “Error establishing a database connection” which means problem in wp-config.php.
