301 Redirect Question – Urgent!

  • When I do a 301 redirect from a subpage of my old WP site to a subpage of my new WP site, (i.e. Redirect 301 /oldsubpage/ https://www.newsite.com/newsubpage/), and type in the url of the old subpage in my browser, it redirects to “www.newsite.comnewsubpage” instead of “www.newsite.com/newsubpage/” (for some reason, it ignores the slashes) and as a result, I get “URL could not be found” error. Why is this happening and how do I fix it?
