    Hello everyone,

    I am using the Cart66 Lite plugin with my website at: https://www.boosebooks.com

    My template is “Xenastore” (https://www.web2feel.com/xenastore/)

    I cannot get comments to appear on my product pages. I am not using posts. Comments appear and work fine on posts but not product pages. For an example, visit: https://www.boosebooks.com/product/taxes-made-easy-ebook-free/

    There is no “Discussion” or “Comments” option under “Screen Options” when editing my product pages, nor is there a box for discussion anywhere on the page. I added the following code to the xenastore template to get the “Comments are closed” message.

    <?php comments_template(); ?>

    What can I do to manually open comments on all product pages? I am comfortable with php editing, FTP, and the like. Just let me know what you think I should do. I must have comments open on product pages and this template won’t allow me to substitute posts for product pages. I need to use product pages, otherwise using posts creates more problems than it solves (long story).

    I’m a pretty patient guy, but it’s been 5 months now and I still don’t have an answer. *Bump.*

    Wow – you ARE patient! Unfortunately, these forums probably aren’t the best place to ask – as we only support themes and plugins downloaded from this site. Have you asked the theme developer for help – it looks like Cart66 comes with that theme?

    I’m sad to say that Cart66 doesn’t offer very much support for anything that falls outside the core mechanics of the plugin. *Sigh*. This is such a pain in the butt. I can’t believe Cart66 doesn’t offer better support for their paid product. I’m not trying to bad mouth them, but my experience has been less than pleasant with Cart66.

    Anyway, I have no idea why comments aren’t working. I’m willing to try pretty much anything at this point, although I don’t know if it matters anymore since I am considering a different theme.

    Yes, I have seen that stuff. I just don’t understand why they aren’t showing up. It says “Comments are closed.” So, the code is there on the page. The theme I am using has a custom page/post type – “products.” I feel like it is (for some reason) coded into these custom pages to always disallow comments. Discussion is enabled in “Screen Options.”

    I have looked over the template PHP code and cannot find anything that would suggest comments are closed on product pages. So, just not sure what else to try.

    But thanks for your help. I feel like this is a lost cause… at least on this theme… at least for now.

    The issue you are having here is related to the theme. They’ve disabled the comments feature for the Product post type. You would need to modify the theme to enable discussion options. I’d suggest getting in touch with the theme developer if you aren’t sure how to do that.
