How to get Header Image to Overlay Menu Bar

Hey guys!
I am trying to get my theme design working how I envision here and maybe you all can help me out. Seems simple.
I want my top header image to overlay the bottom of the image (transparent) on to the menu/navigation bar.
part of the “K”, “S”, and “P” i want overlapping on to the navigation. Any ideas? My image is part of the background for the wrapper.
