Working with products scattered over many pages rather than singe Shop page?

My client has a website under development where his products are scattered over many pages. The site is not primarily an ecommerce site but a number of digital and physical products are sold. The WP theme used is Catalyst.
Is it possible to just add a shortcode for Add to cart under each product on the various pages or do all products need to be first added via the Add Product option?
Is it possible to change the styling of the Add to Cart button?
Is it possible to have an extract of the description on the Shop page with the full description on the original page where the product appears and so avoid duplicate content?
