    Hello –

When attempting to add a Facebook / Twitter / Linkedin connection via the Jetpack Publicize settings, we receive the following error message:

-32700: parse error. not well formed

We’ve tried to find a solution via this forum or Google, but none seem to exist. Can you please advise how we should proceed.

    Thanks in advance!!

Can you please try installing the Jetpack Compatibility Plugin, so we can investigate further?

    1) Download the plugin from https://plugins.svn.www.ads-software.com/jetpack/branches/jetpack-compatibility-test.zip
    2) Upload the plugin to your site via Dashboard -> Plugins -> Add New.
    3) Activate the plugin and go to Plugins -> Jetpack Compatibility Test.
    4) Click the “Select All” button.
    5) Send the results of the test to our support team via this form:

    Hello –

We are still receiving an error message, even after following your suggestions and after updating to version 2.01 today.

The error code is the same: Error code: -32700

    Thanks again for your help!

I got the same error when I used Firefox but it worked when I tried using Internet Explorer. Perhaps that’ll solve the issue for you as well.

Thanks – I really appreciate it.

I’m on a Mac, so I don’t have access to IE, but Firefox, Chrome and Safari all result in the same error message.

I use am on an iMac with Mountain Lion, and I have exactly the same problem!

    I get the error message:

“Something which should never happen, happened. Sorry about that. If you try again, maybe it will work. Error code: -32301”

    So frustrating!

@ashley Could you also send us an email with the results of the compatibility test, as I mentioned in my previous post?

This has totally screwed up my Backup files. Not good.

That shouldn’t happen. Maybe try posting some additional detail about what happened in your case in a separate thread, including error messages and details about how your backups work if you can.

    @hectorea @lydiamunoz
it seems that your site is not properly connected to your WordPress.com account. This might be caused by some conflicts between Jetpack and your server settings.

If you use Varnish and Nginx on your server, you might be able to solve the issue by following the steps described here:
    https://usefulmix.com/wordpress-nginx-varnish-jetpack-xml_rpc-32700-glitch-fix/

If you use a different server configuration, could you let me know about it? Does your server use any kind of caching, or do you use a Firewall to protect your site?

    Thanks!

I fixed it. I remember I uninstall jetpack and install again and reconnect. It started to work again… Thanks @jeremy

I installed the last Jetpack update, but for the “sharing” function still get:

Something which should never happen, happened. Sorry about that. If you try again, maybe it will work. Error code: -32301

    ??

    The other functions work fine.
    Thnx!
    m.
