I’m getting the error below when trying to complete the installation of Jetpack. I’ve read and checked/implemented any advice I can see without any success. Also been in touch with my web hosts who are also scratching their heads.

    The site is https://htf-media.com

Appreciate any help to resolve this.

Your website needs to be publicly accessible to use Jetpack: site_inaccessible

Error Details: The Jetpack server was unable to communicate with your site [HTTP 404]. Ask your web host if they allow connections from WordPress.com. If you need further assistance, contact Jetpack Support: https://jetpack.me/support/

    Jetpack Mechanic ??

I had a look at your site, and it seems that your XML-RPC file is not responding correctly. This file is used by Jetpack to communicate with WordPress.com, and needs to be accessible to be able to connect your site to your WordPress.com account.
You can check it yourself by entering your site URL here:
    https://jetpack.me/support/debug/

You can also forward this link to your hosting provider, and ask them if they block access to your XML-RPC file. I hope that helps!

    Thanks @jeremy

Been onto the hosting provider, it’s not that.

You can see from https://htf-media.com/info.php that XML-RPC is enabled etc

    Any other approaches or ideas!?

    Jetpack Mechanic ??

I had another look at your site, and the XML-RPC file seems to be accessible now. Jetpack seems to be connected as well. Have you managed to solve the issue by yourself?

    Literally just this second

From my tech support chat: “The issue actually was with the mod_sec conflicting with xml”

Thanks for following up for me Jeremy – the debug link could do with more visibility on the Jetpack errors that come up though!

    Best
