[Plugin: CPT-onomies] Use top level / parent pages only (Hide child pages)
-
Hiya – loving this plugin so far. I think it has the potential to really simplify what has quickly become a maze of interconnecting taxonomies and post-types within my site!
I have a question I hope someone can solve.
Is it possible to use only the top-level or parent pages of a CPT as items within the CPT-onomy taxonomy?
In my scenario, I have a CPT called <branch>. (In this example branches are regional offices of an organisation).
Each <branch> post has 2 (or more) child posts (news and case studies etc), which are all part of the same CPT.
ie.
-Oxford
>News
>Case studies-London
>News
>Case studies-Manchester
>News
>Case studiesThere are currnetly approx 20 branches.
I’ve created a new CPT-onomy tax using the <branch> CPT.
However when I view the new CPT-onomy on a post edit page I’m presented with the full heirarchy of the CPT-onomy (I guess as you’d expect).I’d like to find a way to using only the top level pages of the <branch> CPT in the CPT-onomy and ignore or hide all of the repetitive ‘News’ and ‘Case Studies’ terms from the CPT-onomy.
Is it possible? Does the above make any sense?
I’d be really grateful for any help. Many thanks!
Stef
