• After a relatively slow upgrade wait to WordPress 3.5, including a 500 Internal Server Error showing its face midway through, my WordPress site (intoapple.net) finally finished upgrading, only to greet me with a <b>Fatal error: Call to a member function register_handler() on a non-object in /home/content/58/7039758/html/wp-includes/media.php on line 944</b> error.

I’ve tried manually upgrading, but nothing’s changed. Does anyone know of a possible solution to my problem?

  • Something similar just happened to me as well. Actually, it upgraded fine. I’ve been working on some pages and decided to view one live when I was greeted with:

Fatal error: Cannot redeclare wp_explain_nonce() (previously declared in /home/content/44/4977044/html/damaramu/wp-includes/functions.php:1858) in /home/content/44/4977044/html/damaramu/wp-includes/deprecated.php on line 3176

I can’t even login to the backend.

Have you tried downloading a fresh copy and copying the files up to your FTP (like a manual upgrade)?
