OK, I’ve read all the posts that concerns my issue/error/bug but nothing is working.

Installed WordPress 3.5 but can’t upload media. I get the errors “Error saving media attachment” and the other one which said there isn’t a folder. The posts I’ve read (from 2/3 years ago) are saying that you should add a uploads folder (so I did). Then they say change 755 to 777 (so I did). Go into media settings of WordPress and change the directory where uploads should go (there is no such thing in the settings of WP 3.5). Tried with the year and month checked. This created the folders 2012>12 but no upload possible and still the same error.

Can anyone please be my hero and help me with this 4-days struggle?!?

Remove that folder. It is essential that WP creates the uploads folder itself. Try changing the permissions on the wp-content directory to 766. If you still have problems, try 767, 775 or 777. Once your uploads are working, change the permissions on wp-content back to 755 again and check that everything still works OK.

    Thanks for your quick response!

I deleted the created folder and changed the permissions. It does not work with any of those permissions. The funny thing is, somehow WP did create the folder uploads on itself though.

    What else can I do?

What error(s) are you seeing now?

    Still the same:
“Error saving media attachment.” when in Media>add new
“Missing a temporary folder.” when in Post>add media>insert media

Hi, I have got the same error and it is doing my head in, surely WP should put out an update for such issues…

    Missing a temporary folder.

Try contacting your hosts about this. It could be a server issue.

    The problem is solved!

I contacted the host and he replied that the folder for temporary files was not existing on the FTP server. They created it for me and now I can finally upload images to my portfolio. ??

Esmi, thank-you so much for helping!!
