    Um…..What up with the error?

I get this when trying to place a header image. I am running 3.5 WordPress, default theme, no plugins and I get this for the image. It will let me crop it but after that I can do nothing. due to the error:

Image could not be processed. Please go back and try again.

  • Is it an rgb image not cmyk?

im sorry what? its a .png or .jpeg or .gif sample images I pulled from the webs

If pulled from the web it is rgb (red, green, blue). You can make “print” jpegs with programs like Photoshop that are cmyk (cyan, magenta, yellow and black). So, that is ruled out. ^:)

How did you copy them? Do you have a url for one of them? Right click, go to properties and there will be a url.

This is confirmed to be a WordPress 3.5 issue, in WordPress 3.4 it works flawlessly. The image I am using as a sample is:

    https://www.cbc.ca/gfx/images/arts/photos/2012/10/22/hi-national-geo-cp-03460114-8col.jpg

When I do this in 3.4 the image is set as the header, in 3.5 I get my error

I was able to use it in twenty twelve with 3.5 as a header, cropped with no problem. https://www.ourexcellentadventures.com/ I will leave it up for a few minutes.

Not currently able to reproduce this with that image. Is it something that happens with all images, or just that one in particular?

Does it work properly if you upload via Media->Add New, then crop?

Whether or not, could you please post a link to your phpinfo(), so that I can take a look?
You can find directions on the codex, here.

Also try a different image and change the name of this image and try it again. If server logs are readily available you might want to check them.

This will be up for the next 24 hours: https://adambalan.com/temp/test.php This will show you my php info. As far as I know WordPress works with 5.4, to some degree – how ever we cannot state that, that’s def the reason.

I have tried countless images with all the same result.

I have even tried just selecting an image in the library and cropping it, the second I hit accept, to accept my image as is I get Image could not be processed. Please go back and try again.

After checking the apache error logs there’s nothing indicating there is an issue

    Okay, here’s what’s going on!

Image manipulation in WordPress requires either GD or Imagick.

It looks like your install of PHP is not currently including either module.

If you install/enable one of the two, things should function normally.

Are there any instructions to this?
