Integrate WordPress Account and E-newsletter Signup

Hi there,

I am developing a site which is going to require users to be able to signup for both a user account, to post on Forums and FAQs, as well as signup for the e-newsletter. As I’m new to creating interactive sites like that, I’m wondering a few things:

1. What is the security like for user accounts? They need to be able to post forum topics, as well as FAQs, and comment on both of those. Are there any concerns/proactive measures I should take to ensure the security of this?
2. Is there any way to integrate signing up for a user account with managing one’s e-newsletter subscription? It would be nice to have it all in one login. Otherwise, I suppose I can keep them separate.
