Waht's Happened to Test Style and the Shortcode Dropdowns?

I just verified.. and they are both still there.

What version did you upgrade from?

They are both there. I’ve been working/testing WP 3.5 and Ultimate TinyMCE since the first WP 3.5 beta. There have been many changes to WP 3.5 core and not every plugin author has tested against the latest version. I know that Josh has, so I would lean towards it being another plugin causing the problem.

What I would recommend is that you disable your plugins one at a time and see if you can find a conflict. You’ll also have to make sure to flush your cache.

If you do find a conflict, you should notify the plugin author. They may not be aware of it yet.

Use this same procedure on any other plugin which was working prior to WP 3.5 and is not working properly now.

I think it’s the “show/hide kitchen sink” button.

Scroll across all buttons in the top row of the editor until you see a tooltip that says “show/hide kitchen sink”.

Click that button. It expands/collapses row 2 of editor. I think you might have it hidden.

You are right, Josh, thank you. I don’t usally use the kitchen sink so ignore it. The same has happened to other sites I have Ultimate TinyMCE installed in so I’m wondering whether the upgrade to WP 3.5 caused it to hide.

Ronbeme, than you for your advice too. It’s always good to test by switching back to a bare bones WP install when problems arise, including switching the theme back to default.

No.. it wasn’t the WP update. I had (sometime ago) added some code to “force” the kitchen sink open, by default. So, even if someone would save it closed… it would still force open when reloaded.

I did this because so many people don’t know how to use the button… and I received mass emails from people saying their buttons were gone.

Then.. I decided I don’t want ANYTHING in the plugin which is not user-enabled. Meaning… I don’t want to force anything.

So, original functionality is restored… and the button will now save in it’s closed state… if you desire.
