• Hey guys,

Does anyone have any recommendations for setting up my blog posts like this:

    mysite.com/blog/i-want-this-setup

I tried playing with the permalink structure but it effects my entire site.

    Thanks

  • When I want this, I make “blog” a category and then post my articles in there.

Then I use this permalink structure:

    %category%/%postname%

So “blog” is the category then the post is shown. This then allows me to keep pages in a nice format “page-name” etc… Works well for me.

Ahh yes, forgot to mention. My blog will have multiple categories within so I do not want to have blog listed as a category.

Why not use Blog as the parent and then house those other categories as children?

Or are you looking to have your entire WP installation live on “blog”?

I had considered that but will it not generate URLs:

    mysite.com/blog/child-category/post-name

I would prefer to have all posts, regardless of what category to be in

    mysite.com/blog/post-name
