    Oh wow!
    Just saw this float by. I’ve looked at it in the past but couldn’t use it since the required image plugins weren’t on my shared hosting but I now see they’re builtin – so I had to try it over currently using WP Smushit.

    So wow, it’s great.

    Only issue is the bulk optimise doesn’t seem to work for me. I just get a page with the title and nothing else and I have left it for some time. The individual optimizing works wonderfully though.

    Any ideas?

    some people see just a blank screen until the optimize finishes, or times out. As long as the page shows that it is loading, just let it go, and you can come back later and resume it if it fails midway through.

    scratch that, I’ve replicated the bug on my production site. I’ll have to see what the issue is and hopefully have a fix out by tomorrow.

    Hehe I was just uploading a video demonstrating the issue when you replied above.
    Good it’s not just me then.
    Appreciate your work – great plugin!

    released 1.3.1 to fix this. Turns out it was because I tried to be clever and turn off gzip compression in Apache on the bulk page. It doesn’t work when you do it mid-page, so I removed the offending code and all is back to normal.

    Brilliant. and works wonderfully on my WP images

    One thing is the same blank page behaviour is showing on the Bulk Optimise screen for NextGen Gallery.
    Is the fix required for NxtGen as well?

    And it would be a great addition to be able to have the Bulk Optimise option inside each Gallery too – i.e. be able to just optimise a gallery at a time

    Ah yes, of course it would be necessary to fix NextGEN and FlAGallery as well. You can simply look for these lines and remove them:

    // turn off compression, since it causes unwanted buffering
    @apache_setenv(‘no-gzip’, 1);
    @ini_set(‘zlib.output_compression’, 0);

    It would indeed be nice to have the Bulk Optimize for each gallery, but I’m afraid I’m waiting for the fine folks at photocrati to implement the hooks necessary for such a feature.

    Hi,
    thanks for a great plugin,

    the issue is same, i can do individual image optimasation but the bulk optimisation is not working. Page completes loading and lands me on the same screen where it shows [Start Optimising]

    any suggestions

    drashokshyam, that’s a totally different issue, but it may be one that was just fixed in 1.4.2. If you are still having trouble, please start a new thread.

    First thanks for the plugin, coupled with cache I’ve managed to decrease my loading time 20% of what is was previously on my listaz.co.uk site. I didnt want to have to download all the images and run them through photoshop batch processing

    I have exactly the same issue as above though, I can optimise the images individually one by one, but when using the bulk optimiser..

    We have 119 images to optimise, I click the button “Start optimising” and nothing happens (page just sort of re-loads)

    Again, it is not possible for you to have the same issue as the original poster. Those issues were fixed some time ago, and we don’t use the same functions anymore, at all. Please start a new thread, so that I can help you properly. Also indicate what browser you are using.
