• WordPress 3.5 multisite install (sub-directory)
    BP 1.6.2 activated on main site only

    I and my design person are at a loss on this.

    I don’t want to hide the bar, I only want to edit it so that it is a custom bar on both the main site and all blog sites as well.

    However, I cannot find any information on where I should do these edits. Changing things in the /wp-includes/functions.php only breaks the site while changing things in the /wp-content/plugins/buddypress/bp-themes/bp-default/functions.php only works for the main site.

    We have been trying to resolve this for well over a week now. Somethings work, some don’t but none of the things we’ve found searching the internet give us the total solution we are looking for.

    The intents are;
    -Customize the admin bar to remove the links and change the WP icon to an icon/link back to the main site from all sub-blogs.

    -Add a drop down list of blogs which we can maintain manually.

    -Add social network icons/links to our twitter/facebook pages.

    Any help on this would be so welcome!

    PS: I am posting this on the WP site as well since I am not sure where this falls, BP or WP.

    Thank you kindly.

  • Hi,

    I’m trying to do the same thing by the sounds of it, just not in buddypress. The excellent admin AG custom admin plugin:
    https://www.ads-software.com/extend/plugins/ag-custom-admin/

    works great, but only for one site. I need something like that, that is applied to ALL sites in the network.

    If you have any joy with this please let me know – and I’ll do the same

    This didn’t work for me. I found a plugin called Snippets and used some code. I hate using plugins however because authors too often abandon them.
